Help I am starving!!!!!

OK tell me if I'm wrong?My main downfall on all diets is
I think I'm on a diet can't eat to much.I'm hungry all day
I go to bed hungry and wake up hungry!
This can't be good for me I know it's making me feel like
crap!!!For example yesterday I did not take pictures but I had
nothing for breakfast(I know probably my first mistake)for lunch
I had a Michellianios(not sure of spelling)little tv dinner of green peppers and rice says it's 270 calories and 4 grams of fat.Ok then I wait until supper starving the whole time!LOL Supper I fix for dh and boys pork chops in the crockpot and yummy mashed potatoes and rolls!yummy Well I ate a medium baked potato with a spoonful of fat free cottage cheese and two sliced tomatoes!Should this have filled me up?Because I went to bed starving.My poor stomach was growling and now this morning I got up and it's still growling!I guess I should feed it but I'm really not a breakfast person.
Please help me with meal ideas for me so I don't starve myself to death!

OH Shelly babe! Your hungry because well.. your hungry! It's time to eat! Don't starve yourself!What kind of things do you like to eat normally? One thing I have/ and am stil learning is I have got to learn to eat in a way that I can eat forever. I have found my happy place on low carb with a few days off plan here and there. So, why not eat what you fix your family, just smaller portions! I would aim for about 1500 calories or so, and you can also check into places like www.thedailyplate.com and track your calories there. Anyway, like I said ~ EAT!

You definitely aren't eating enough. Not enough calories, not really enough of anything.

270 calories for lunch is okay, if you have had a breakfast of some sort, and a small snack in between.

Your dinner came to approximately 285 calories. Thats a total of 555 calories for the whole day! Definitely not enough.

You should probably try to at least triple that, by adding healthy grains, fruit and more veggies, maybe even some dairy.

Please don't starve yourself, it just slows the metabolism and makes you miserable.

Try to eat a little something every 2-3 hours, and hit around 1500 calories.

It will work, I promise :) I know, I lost over 100 lbs at one time in my life, and after I gained most of it back (like most of us *sigh*)..I have lost close to 40 lbs already...

It works. Without being hungry or getting sick.

Shelly I agree with the others. Eat small meals every 2-3 hours. Love ya babe. I know you can do this.

Oh Shelly! You are hungry because you are NOT eating enough. I suggest logging on to a website that lets you track calories. I do sparkpeople.com, LOVE them! This way, you will put some info in and they will let you know how many calories you are supposed to be eating for the day. It really doesn't sound like you ate enough yesterday. Let me know if you need help on figuring stuff out!

Ditto what everyone else has said. If you are hungry then eat something. Plan your day so that you have breakfast, lunch, dinner and a couple healthy snacks. I haven't always been a breakfast person but once you get into it you will wake wanting it. I LOVE smoothies. I make them with nonfat vanilla yogurt, frozen fruit and either skim milk, Trop50 OJ, or V8 fusion Light. This starts your day with something in your tummy and gets you some dairy and fruit/veggies first thing.

I know there are LOTS of websites for tracking calories that don't cost money. Check out the ones suggested here or do a search for one but get to one and figure out what you should be eating a day to lose weight in a healthy way.

Now go have a snack! :)

i would be starving if i were you! go ahead and eat up girl! the other ladies gave you some awesome advice, most of which i think everyone from gag will tell you. you will find you happy eating place!

Shelly, you're not going to succeed if you're hungry all the time. And believe it or not, you must EAT in order to LOSE. I don't know all of your stats, but when I'm NOT working out, I still lose eating 1300-1400 calories a day! So when I AM working out I eat closer to 1600! So, what you ate yesterday? NOT ENOUGH!!!!

I would definately recommend some protein and a good whole grain carb for breakfast - something that will stick with you a while. Start with that - DONT SKIP BREAKFAST!!

And I would also recommend finding a way to write down what you eat, so you can track your calories.

And maybe get a few healthy snacks to have on hand. 100 calorie pack almonds. A cheese stick. Apples. PLEASE!

AND STICK WITH US!! Your fellow GAGers are going to be a lifeline!!

Definately eat more! Healthy eating is a lifestyle that will reflect with a healthier body. By not eating enough you are only setting yourself up for the big binge. Plan out your snacks ahead of time and ALWAYS eat a breakfast. I keep track of my calories over on livestrong.com and one of the first things I discovered was that I had to learn to eat MORE. I had my minimum set of calories and actually found it hard to eat that much. Keep the healthy snacks available and recognize that your body needs food to function. You can do this!
