You'll get a lot from adding more fruits and veggies into your diet. Also, Costco sells this whole wheat double fiber bread that's something like 7g fiber per slice.

Just be sure to incorporate it slowly or you might be really gassy!

Fiber One cereals are helpful. Watch out for the bars though, they make everyone gassy.

Hey Shelly! I am so glad you asked this question!

I am not a "regular" kinda gal either, and when I began low carbing I was afraid of it getting worse. In my case, it helped to up the fat in my diet ( like by adding in more olive oil, or coconut oil/ butter/ sour cream).

Adding in a bit more fiber (whether it be supplements, adding flax seeds to your food, or by upping your fruits (apples are great) and veggies (broccoli is wonderful too) is the easy part, but WATCH OUT! Adding too much at once, can cause a "back up" and may make things worse.

ditto what everyone has already said.
If you want an easy way to get some good fiber (if you aren't a low carb kind of gal) try having old fashioned or steel cut oats for breakfast.

Fiber One products are chock full if you need something quick & easy.

Flax seed is an excellent addition because it has fiber plus good omega 3 fats. I buy the ground & add it to my oatmeal, Kashi & even my yogurt. Since it is ground I don't really notice a difference in taste or texture.

Also make sure you are drinking your water! Water helps everything move. ;)

Best of luck.

Everyone else was so helpful that this is probably just redundant.

But-- I like adding fruits like prunes (not everyones favorite but they are mine!) and flax for the lubricating oil effect. The oats are wonderful on fiber, and the veggies. Especially the green leafy ones! Natural choices are definately the best.

But I used to use fiber drinks as well. I can't remember which one has sucralos and which has aspartame, but there is Fiber One and All Bran. You can buy the "singles" and just poor them into a 20 oz bottle of water. I used to drink one at night before bed, especially when I first started making changes in my diet.

Any warm drink, such as herbal tea, also promotes healthy bowel function. JFYI.

Im on the same page with you, and I try all different things... nothing seems to work. Unless I eat processed foods... like if I were to eat crap, the next day without fail I "crap"... but if I eat whole foods that I cook at home and eat simple I never go. I use olive oil and have lots of water, I love green veggies and I still dont go... I wish I could give you an answer...
